Anticipations Autumn 2021 - Liberation edition

We're delighted to present the relaunch of Antics, with a new edition focusing on liberation.

In this edition, Antics has been re-imagined to be an artwork as much as a political magazine. In its pages you'll find cultural reviews, inspirational poetry, digital resources, and original illustrations which bring even more life to powerful articles on the politics of liberation: and ideas for a better world.

Antics' Liberation edition includes contributions from the Young Fabians' membership in all its amazing diversity of backgrounds, lived experiences and expertise. The edition has so much to say about the past and future of liberation for women, LGBTQIA+ people, Disabled people, and people from a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds. We're also delighted to include an essay from Nadia Whittome MP on intersectionality in class politics, and interviews with: Eric Murangwa Eugène MBE, survivor of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi; activists in Hong Kong's fight for democracy; and with Labour activist and 1987 Caucus co-founder Jermain Jackman.

You can read this edition of Antics here as an Issu online flipbook, or here as a pdf.

Please note that this edition is currently available online-only, although it will also be printed and sent to Young Fabians members in the Fabians’ winter quarterly mailing in December 2021. If you’re under 31, you can join the Young Fabians here - and if you're over 31, you can receive a print copy by joining Friends of the Young Fabians here.

We'd like to thank every member who wrote for and helped illustrate Antics' Liberation edition: and to say a huge thanks to our Antics Editor Amber Khan and Sub-Editor Louie Marlow for producing this amazing publication.

Anticipations Summer 2020 - Utopian Futures special edition

After celebrating our 60th Anniversary with a Spring edition of Antics full of brilliant ideas from our members, we're back with a special Summer edition. 'Utopian Futures' is a collection of short and medium length articles that entice us to think bigger, to aim higher in our policy ideas, and to imagine a different kind of society and world post Covid-19. It includes an interview with This House playwright James Graham, articles on UBI in practice, how our cities need to adapt to thrive and the future of pensions, among many others.

As ever, thank you to all those who have written for it, to the team that have put the magazine together, and to you, for being a supportive member and making it possible.
